The IAPS is pleased to announce the acquisition of the Albanian Evangelical Mission’s collection containing books, magazine and newspaper articles, photographs, brochures. and miscellaneous articles.
The Albanian Evangelical Mission is a British Evangelical mission established in 1986 in order “to make the gospel known to the Albanian people and to foster Evangelical church life among them.” It grew largely out of prayer meetings for Albania which began in Kent in 1976 and visits to Albania in the 1980s by Christians on official tour groups.
The AEM collection related to the background and history of Protestantism among the Albanians grew originally out of the interest of David Young, former director of AEM, beginning in 1965. As the AEM began closing its offices in Wrexham in 2015, Young requested of the new director (Paul Davies) that the collection be donated to the IAPS. The collection represented the core of the library and archives of the Albanian Evangelical Mission, with the exception of documents such as financial accounts and minutes. The AEM approved the transfer in the Fall of 2015.
